…New Neighborhoods – The Consumer’s Guide to Condominium, Co-op and HOA Living. The book does a great job of illustrating the legal facts surrounding shared ownership communities (SOCs) and what happens when the facts collide with some of the basic elements of human nature. As an industry professional, I found New Neighborhoodsto be an excellent resource and found myself occassionally cheering out loud while reading it.

If after a thorough review of the information, in the end it really boils down to one simple question, “Are you a rule follower or do you question authority at every turn?” If the latter is true, a homeowners association is probably not a good option for you.
